Role overview
Set the scientific direction for qubit development and measurement: which architectures to pursue, how they are characterised, and how results feed back into fabrication and control. The role combines hands-on experiment with responsibility for a programme and the people running it.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop superconducting qubits and quantum processor architectures.
- Design and integration of quantum measurement and control systems.
- Define characterisation protocols and interpret device performance across runs.
- Work on end-to-end development: design, fabrication, testing and scaling.
- Contribute to building large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum systems.
Qualifications and experience
- Master's or PhD in Physics, ECE, Applied Physics, Materials Science or a related field.
- 2 – 15 years of experience in quantum technology, RF/microwave engineering or related domains.
- Strong understanding of quantum circuits, cryogenics and microwave systems.
- Track record of leading experimental work.
